Changing lives through the power of learning, sharing and making music is the Mission of the Manchester Community Music School. We offer instruction and performance opportunities for the amateur, aspiring and professional musician with diverse opportunities of the highest quality.

Over 1,200 students of all ages and from 54 NH communities participate in weekly private lessons, group classes, summer music camps, orchestras, classes, music therapy, music technology, and early childhood programs.

Nearly 200 student musicians come from every region of the state to participate in the New Hampshire Youth Ensemble (NHYE) Program – New Hampshire’s premiere large youth ensemble program featuring orchestras, band, and jazz band.

MCMS is a 501©3 nonprofit organization registered in the state of New Hampshire and a full member of the National Guild of Community Arts Education.

Description:

Support the Director of Education and the NHYE Symphony Orchestra conductor to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, consistent, smoothly running youth ensemble program. This is a part-time position.

Requirements:
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Ability to plan and multi-task.
  • interface with varied constituencies (students, parents, conductors, musicians).
  • Ability to function as a team player and a supporter.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day of ensemble rehearsal operations.
  • Music management.
  • Concert management.
