| The River Center The River Center is a newly restructured, nonprofit community resource center servicing 14 area towns, created through the merging of two fully and well-established resource centers. Current programs and services include but are not limited to: information and assisted referral services, unemployment services, financial services, parenting support groups, child enrichment programs, and early home support services for young mothers. TRC is supported financially by the United Way and through community donations and partnerships. TRC operates with a combined annual budget of $300,000. |

Description:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for the overall leadership of the organization through the transitional period of the two merged organizations and into the future as an established community resource center.
Requirements:
We are looking for an individual with experience in a management role who demonstrates the ability to advocate the needs of a community, to identify potential funding sources in the community, acquire grants, manage a multi-source budget, creatively manage a diverse staff and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. You must be prepared to act as the face of organization and all that it represents. You must be able lead with a defined vision of the role of the organization within the community, carried out with integrity and a sense of humor.
Responsibilities:
In order for The River Center to become fully established and financially sustainable, you will be required to:
- Identify and advocate the needs of the communities in which you serve and find creative ways in which to meet those needs
- Launch a marketing campaign for the new organization, calling attention to the mission and its well established and newly created programs and services
- Establish a development plan, creating direct relationships between community partners, donors and programs. Achieve potential funding sources by writing and managing grants
- Evaluate the property owned by TRC and create a plan of action for its use
- Create a staff and volunteer base, which meets set performance standards, and oversees the staff growth and development, to meet program and organizational needs.
- Oversees the preparation of annual reports and financial reports required by the Board and federal, state and local agencies, managing the organization within the constraints of the operating budget in a cost effective manner.
