Nashua, NH - The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua has received a grant from the TD Banknorth Charitable Foundation in
the amount of $10,000 to support programs and activities that prepare and encourage Boys & Girls Club members to pursue
higher education. The Boys & Girls Club provides daily programs to build members’ academic skills and encourage the
pursuit of knowledge. In addition to home work help and tutoring, Club members can participate in activities that
prepare them for college and a career. These activities include an online program called Career Launch to help focus
aptitude and interest on a career field; Toastmasters to help members develop public speaking skills; financial aid,
FAFSA, and college application workshops; and local and out-of-state college tours.
“With the help of our donors, we recently awarded 24 college scholarships to members and alumni who participated in our
college mentoring activities,” said Norm Bouthilette, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club. “TD Banknorth can be proud of its
support of our education and career programs which have helped these and many other youngsters develop academically and
overcome obstacles that may prevent them from going to college. We greatly appreciate TD Banknorth’s support.”
“We believe organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua play a significant role in sustaining vibrant
and thriving communities,” said R. Scott Bacon, President and CEO of TD Banknorth New Hampshire. “The Bank is pleased to
support the Boys & Girls Club’s ongoing efforts to enable youth to become productive, responsible citizens.”
