The board of the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum welcomed three new trustees at its annual meeting on Saturday January 21
Douglas Deihl is Director of American Indian & Ethnographic Art at Skinner, Inc., of Boston and Marlborough, Massachusetts where he has worked since 1996. Deihl has a degree in cultural anthropology from Wayne State University and is currently a member of ATADA (Antique Tribal Art Dealers of America). He brings an in-depth knowledge of Native American arts to the board.
Robert J. Dietel is an attorney with Gallagher, Callahan and Gartrell of Concord where he specializes in financial services and environmental law. Before joining the law firm Dietel worked as an advertising manager for SAIL Magazine in Boston. He is also a history and arts enthusiast with a degree from Colgate University where he graduated with a major in history and a minor in studio art.
Dr. Robert G. Goodby is Associate Professor of Anthropology at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge. He teaches museum studies, archaeology and anthropology courses and conducts archaeological excavations in the Monadnock Region. Goodby has a close working relationship with Native communities in New Hampshire and serves on the New Hampshire Commission on Native American Affairs.
Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum was founded in 1990 by Charles “Bud” and Nancy Thompson as an educational and cultural center to connect visitors with Native American culture, past and present, and to encourage respect for our environment. The Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum seeks to challenge all of us to improve the quality of our lives and our world. The museum is open daily May 1 – October 31, Monday – Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday noon-5pm and on weekends November through mid-December.
