Anagnost Investments, Inc. Helps Local Thrift Store Grow

Concord - Families in Transition (FIT), a Manchester and Concord-based homeless housing and services provider, is the recipient of a $36,575 donation from Anagnost Investments, Inc. through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority tax credit program. The donation will fund the ongoing expansion and relocation of OutFITters Thrift Store Boutique in Concord and will help combat homelessness by enhancing Families in Transition’s housing and programming.

The OutFITters Thrift Store Boutique has become a popular retail destination in downtown Concord for those looking to buy new and gently used upscale women’s clothing, shoes and accessories. The store is currently in the process of relocating to a larger, more central location at 20 South Main Street and is expanding to also carry men’s and children’s clothing, books, housewares and furniture. The store is expected to open in mid December. All of the store’s profits are used to fund Families in Transition programming.

“As of member of the Families in Transition board, I understand the importance of their mission and the great role they play in the community,” said Dick Anagnost, President of Anagnost Investments. “I’ve garnered a greater appreciation for that mission and the support they provide to some of our states most needy. They are doing a fantastic job!”

Families in Transition is a nonprofit organization that provides safe, affordable housing and comprehensive social services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, enabling them to gain self-sufficiency and respect. FIT also owns and operates two thrift stores in Manchester and Concord, NH, as well as a newly established commercial cleaning company, all of which serve as economic engines to help pay for services that FIT provides.
