Job Description

Shelter Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.

Position: 25 hours weekly, paid bi-weekly (hourly wage to be discussed at interview per qualifications)

Requirements:

This position is primarily mornings and is a great opportunity for stay at home parent who wishes to work part-time in an enjoyable, fast paced enviroment. We seek an individual who can be uplifting, compassionate, structured and enjoys working with a team of professionals who are close. and enjoy laughing

Candidate should be able to lift 25lbs., climb stairs and enjoy interacting with people while making a posative impact in the community.

Responsibilities:

Shelter Manager Duties include:

  • Conduct daily facility checks and outline cleaning duties to guests if needed.
  • Orient new guests to postal, kitchen, belongings storage and other pertinent information that will enhance their stay in the program
  • Provide supports such as computer assistance, resource information and/or pamphlets and other materials working in conjunction with case manager.
  • Help staff organize storage closets and coordinate, track and document in-kind community donations
  • Recruit, interview, train and schedule volunteers for the SFP Day Center
  • Document congregational and Day Center volunteer background checks, confidentiality statements and other pertinent volunteer information
  • Answer telephones
  • Attend volunteer informational training meetings and community opportunities to maintain a strong volunteer base
  • Subscribe to the philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs and of consideration and respect for guests.
  • Annual review, staff meetings, and support for events also included
