Program Coordinator

Manchester Community Resource Center

The Manchester Community Resource Center Inc (MCRC) is a Community Based Development Organization that has been successfully providing a variety of innovative employment related services and programs to individuals since 1998. 

MCRC Services include a full range of employment related services including job skills, job readiness, care coordination, public notary, copying, scanning, & faxing services, information & referral and access to public computers -- equipped with the internet, resume software, typing tutorial and MSOffice. 

The Program Coordinator will assist with direct oversight of MCRC programs, facility usage and public computers by providing services and supporting programs related to education, training, employment services, and other support services to assist customers of the Manchester Community Resource Center (MCRC) with goals of attaining economic self-sufficiency. 

Incumbent shall assume the responsibility of the following program components:

1. Program Outreach/Promotion/Marketing: oversee the outreach, promotion, and marketing of all programs and services to students, participants, the general public, funders, and partners.  2. Direct Service/Instruction: Instruct programs, provide career guidance, academic counseling, and support services as needed to potential and enrolled customers.  3. Coordination of Services: develop and maintain relationships and coordinate services with other service providers, colleges, businesses, employers, referring agencies, funders and vendors, and coordinate programming and services with center staff. 


Minimum Qualifications: The candidate shall have a related college degree and experience with teaching and/or social services. Equivalent life and work experience shall be accepted in lieu of academic requirements. Prior experience in marketing, case work, program design, employment services, adult academic services, and/or administrative management.  Will have the ability to work a flexible schedule.  Must have computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office.  Must possess an understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of the low-income population and have the ability to work with a diverse population.


Responsibilities Include:

1. Program Outreach/Promotion/Marketing:

  • Will develop and execute effective marketing plans and outreach activities for MCRC programs and services.
  • Will conduct needs assessments and analyze data for purposes of program promotion.
  • Will deliver community presentations, conduct agency tours, and attend community meetings as needed.
  • Will outreach to develop and maintain employer network. 

2. Direct Service/Instruction:

  • Will complete a thorough intake process with customers.
  • Will provide guidance in employment/career exploration.
  • Will teach/facilitate classes, training programs, and workshops as needed.
  • Will provide academic counseling.
  • Will make appropriate referrals to community services.
  • Will identify participant eligibility for federal, state, and local assistance and make appropriate referrals. 
  • Will act as liaison and advocate between participants, community services, funding sources, and MCRC programs.

3. Coordination of Services:

  • Will coordinate intake, assessment, registrations, enrollment, and evaluation processes for customers of MCRC services and programs.
  • Will oversee the implementation and scheduling of all programs and services and maintain standards for licensing and certification requirements.
  • Will become knowledgeable in the components of all curricula of programs offered by MCRC including prerequisite and acceptance requirements, program goals and outcomes, and licensing/certification standards.
  • Will establish and maintain referral procedure between MCRC and other community agencies and funding sources.
  • Will coordinate follow-up services for MCRC training program participants.
  • Will work with other MCRC staff to coordinate services and scheduling.

4. Other Responsibilities:

  • Will collect and maintain appropriate data and provide required written reports.
  • Will present a professional and positive image as a representative of MCRC.
  • Will adhere to the confidentiality policy set forth by MCRC, Inc.
  • Will be responsible for other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Director and/or the Program Director.
